In addition we also have a number of internal programs in process detailed herewith, that assist us on-going to assist the Children in Need.

Collection of Children’s Clothes and Toys

The collection of Children’s QUALITY second hand Clothes and Toys has and still is an on-going program started some three years ago by our collaboration with Nice Price Supermarket. Nice Price supports the foundation by acting as a collection point for receiving from the general public and other charity associations, new and quality second hand children’s clothes and toys. These items are checked sorted and repackaged into age groups by our volunteers and then distributed to various children’s homes and individual children in need. It is estimated that on average in excess of 600 kilos of such items are distributed each year.

In addition to our initial collection point at Nice Price, we are now also able to receive such clothes and toys at our new JoyRon Centre located at Calle Asival 6, 07011, Palma located in Can Valero.

Gifts to the Mallorca Children’s Homes

Annually the Foundation together with its volunteers are ongoing collecting and purchasing gifts for the children in need, be they in a Children’s Home, in Hospital or part of a family in need of support. Most years we are spending between 12-15.000€ on gifts. Some of these gifts, are individual, and some are “Jumbo” gifts for a specific home.

2023/2024 Christmas Gifts for the Children’s Homes

For the 2023 Christmas/2024 Three Kings period, JoyRon identified some 445 children ranging in age from 5 upto young adolescents aged 18, that would be spending their Christmas in one of some 40 different Children’s Homes located on the island of Mallorca. This was achieved by JoyRon purchasing from Fundacion Cleanwave, 445 Stainless Steel Insulated Drinking Bottles as a gift to each child for Three Kings. However, to make each drinking bottle a somewhat special gift, JoyRon organised for each bottle to be engraved with the child’s Christian name, together with their surname initials, plus the JoyRon Foundation logo. (see photos herewith). Thereby providing an everlasting, purposeful and personalised gift to each child, that at the same time, helped to combat the plastic crisis that we face in the Mediterranean and on our beaches. Fundacion Cleanwave was delighted, as the initiative, also very much supported the promotion of their mission in life, to educate the community in the eradication, within our sea and on our beaches of unwanted plasticA Double Whammy Very Much Achieved by All.

JoyRon Foundation Group in North Mallorca

The JoyRon Foundation has significantly grown since its inauguration. It was planned in 2020 for the Foundation to have some representative teams in place throughout the Balearics. Just as Covid-19 commenced we had planned to open the first team to be in North of Mallorca, to focus on the region and replicate much of the work already achieved in the south west of the island. However, our plans had to be put on hold and thereby delayed, until now. We have identified our lead person in Alcudia, North Mallorca to initiate this initiative Victoria Mogildea.  It is intended, to identify a number of committed company owners, managers and private people who have a strong desire to network and build a North of Mallorca sub unit, under the umbrella of JoyRon Foundation, as an extension of the work already undertaken within the foundation in the South West of the island. If you are interested to be part of this team in North Mallorca, please feel free to sign up as one of our volunteers or company sponsors by directly contacting, Victoria Mogildea Aguirre email: victoria@bienestar-architecture.com phone: +34 666 726 989.

    Grant a Wish Program

The Foundation has in place a “Grant a Wish” program for Children in Need. A couple of examples of such wishes that we have undertaken are as follows.

Under our “Grant a Wish” program we identified a young Spanish boy Carlos Franco a seriously ill child with an inoperable and incurable  brain tumour. His wish was to visit Euro Disneyland Paris. So JoyRon Foundation organised flights, transfer to and from airport to Euro Disney, plus accommodation in the EuroDisney Park, including entrance to the park areas and all food  for a five day stay for Carlos plus his mother and father.

A further example of our “Grant a Wish” program in operation was when we were requested to finance the expense of sending a young Spanish boy Andre, almost deaf and extremely poorly sighted to attend a specialised week’s summer camp in Barcelona with his mother and carer, so that he could experience the ability of socialising with others and having some fun.

Children Helping Children in Need Program

The foundation has also designed and implemented an internal program that encourages Children helping Children in Need. Inter-acting and working with a number of schools in Mallorca, developing the awareness of local children in need and thereby encouraging the schools and their pupils to be aware of and thereby further their charitable support for those children who are less fortunate and in need.

OUR CHILDREN OF TO-DAY ARE OUR VOLUNTEERS OF TOMORROW.

  • Community Service Build Projects Planned

    Community Service Build Projects Planned

As outlined on our “Identify, Finance, Build and Donate Program” webpage, we are always very keen to plan and manage projects that involve the building of a facility that provides an on-going facility that not only supports the Children in Need of today but also supports the Children in Need in the FUTURE.

Up until the latter part of 2020, the foundation was anticipating that it would be undertaking a project to finance the building of a new Children’s Home in Mallorca, subject of course to planning permission.

Unfortunately due to circumstances that arose outside of the control of the foundation, the project has been put on hold until at least 2022 at the earliest. In the meantime, as we move towards some level, hopefully of environmental normalisation, the JoyRon Foundation will be seeking to identify an alternative “Build Project” that the foundation can accomplish.

Unless of course in the meantime the original new Children’s Home in Mallorca becomes a viable project and is placed back on the table for further consideration. Especially as the building plans have already been prepared and agreed in principle.

  • Community Service Build Projects Completed

    Community Service Build Projects Completed

The JoyRon Foundation has been operational since second quarter 2015. In that time we have completed in 2020, 2019 and 2017,three different projects within our “Identify, Finance, Build and Donate Program. Herewith we give an outline of all three projects.

Due to the Covid 19 Lockdown, carrying through to the first six months of 2021 the “Identify, Finance, Build and Donate Program” has required to be placed on Hold. We are hopeful that during the second half of 2021 and into 2022, we will be able to Identify our next Build project.

    THE JOYRON PSYCHOMOTRICITY ROOM

During 2019 and into the early part of 2020 we completed the financing construction, installation of all the equipment for a Psychomotricity Room within Puig des Bous, a Children’s Home and Protection Centre in Palma. This model of relational psychomotricity provides for movement, free and spontaneous play, creativity, and security and trust. This work model enables the child to freely express their emotions, moods and concerns, in a context of physical and emotional security, with an adult that can gather everything that is happening in the psychomotricity session. Such process creates an ongoing dialogue with a therapist, who can assist the child to overcome the traumatic experiences they have experienced. The official opening of this facility happened 11th February 2020 and it has been named THE JOYRON PSYCHOMOTRICITY ROOM.

    THE JOYRON CHILDREN’S CINEMA

In 2018 we commenced the identification of a need in Son Espases Hospital within the Children’s Palliative Care for a fully equipped small Cinema. During second half of 2018 and into 2019 this project was undertaken, although subjected to some building delays. The cinema screens films for the children in the hospital whilst receiving their medical treatment, a great humane benefit, especially, for those children in palliative care and long-term hospital stay, many of whom are suffering from a life-threatening illness. The children´s cinema has a capacity for up to twenty children, who are seated on tiered seating with bright coloured cushions and for the very small children in fun mobile seats. Children confined to wheelchairs and/or with intravenous stands have access to the cinema. The films are shown on a regular basis free of charge. The official opening of this facility took place on December 20th 2019 and is named THE JOYRON CHILDREN’S CINEMA

    THE JOYRON AQUATIC CENTRE

In 2016 we identified the requirement of an Aquatic Centre at ASPACE in Bunyola Mallorca. The foundation together with its own architect (who provided his services free of charge) worked in collaboration with ASPACE Balearics, the Cerebral Palsy Association of the Balearic Islands and their architect. ASPACE is a private non profit organisation which provides a school and day centre service for cerebral palsy sufferers. The objective of this initiative being to maximise the capabilities of people with cerebral palsy in their physical, emotional, cognitive and psychosocial aspects. Hence the need for an aquatic centre was considered essential, especially when we consider the Aqua therapy benefits for children with Cerebral Palsy are so numerous. For these reasons we at Fundacion JoyRon are delighted that the Aquatic Centre complex was formally opened in 2017 and soon thereafter became fully operational. We are further delighted that ASPACE decided to name the facility THE JOYRON AQUATIC CENTRE.
